Aromatics

Aromatic compound, any of a vast family of unsaturated chemical compounds with one or more planar rings of atoms connected by two types of covalent connections. Aromaticity refers to the unusual stability of these molecules.

Specialty and organic compounds, in addition to petrochemicals, are not created from oil and gas. Adhesives, agrichemicals, cleaning products, cosmetic additives, elastomers, food additives, and lubricants are some of the subcategories of specialty chemicals. They are distinct from other chemicals in that each one may only have one or two applications. They’re employed in industry for a variety of functions. Some specialty compounds are organic, but not all of them are. Aromatics are extensively utilized in the chemical industry as chemical fuel sources, solvents, and octane-boosting additives in gasoline.

Aromatics are hydrocarbons, which are organic substances made entirely of the elements carbon and hydrogen, without which life on Earth would be impossible.

Benzene, toluene, and the xylenes are the most common aromatics, and they are employed as starting materials in a wide range of consumer items.
